ANAHID SHAHRIK most recently produced the play “Beast on the Moon” and played the lead role of Seta for the San Diego Actor’s Festival at St. Cecelia’s Playhouse. She was also seen in the Carlsbad Playreaders staged reading of “The Boys Next Door.” Anahid will be making her debut with the Sledgehammer Theatre’s production of A Knife in the Heart this fall. Anahid’s film credits include the principal role of Nora in the independent feature film “AFTER FREEDOM” which premiered at Method Fest in Pasadena and won the CFI Audience Award for Best Feature and was recently screened at the Montreal World Film Festival. Her other film credits include independent film “Up and Flying” which premiered at the Brooklyn Film Festival in New York. Trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre in New York City and privately with Richard Pinter, Anahid’s New York productions include Barbara in “Lou Gehrig Did Not Die of Cancer,” Amy Lee in “Laundry and Bourbon,” and Sally in “The Mamet Women.” Born and raised in Boston, Anahid is a classical pianist and is professionally trained in Jazz, Musical Theatre, and Armenian Folk Dance.
